To showcase what’s possible with BigCommerce and inspire others on our platform, we spotlight the top customers who take ecommerce innovation to the next level through our annual BigCommerce Customer Awards.

This year’s panel of judges included Meg Higgins, SVP of Global Partners at Avalara; Joanne Bienskie, Founder of Alpinistas; Ryan Bloms, Associate Director of Partners at Codal; and Adam Ferenzi, VP of Customer Success at BigCommerce.

We’re celebrating this year’s award winners based on their exceptional accomplishments on BigCommerce in the following categories:

  • Emerging Brand: Recognizes the achievements of brands in their first three years of operation.

Since 1911, Davidoff has been known for crafting the finest quality premium cigars. As a brand that puts the utmost time and care into making its products, it’s no surprise that it reflects the same dedication in its ecommerce site.

Davidoff has skillfully integrated extensive information about its products and history throughout its online store in a way that educates visitors without overwhelming them. The brand uses professional videos to showcase the craftsmanship behind each cigar, allowing consumers to gain a deeper understanding of the effort involved in its product creation.

In addition, Davidoff incorporates interactive graphics, FAQs, and engaging product descriptions to provide a one-of-a-kind user experience that sets itself apart from competitors.

According to our judges, “Davidoff of Geneva provides a beautiful and performant design, but what caught our eye the most was the extensive amount of information available. Particularly for this kind of industry, the robust product and taste descriptions, interactive graphics, videos, informational posts, history, FAQs, and customer service make the site highly engaging and informative whether you know anything about the products and industry or not.”

Innovation: Human-I-T

Human-I-T takes a cutting-edge approach to sustainability and supporting underserved communities. This non-profit organization collects and re-sells unwanted technology from corporations to reduce e-waste, with proceeds used to further minimize environmental impact and provide communities access to essential technology.

To make this possible, Human-I-T integrates innovative solutions into its ecommerce store, simplifying the donation process for businesses and ensuring efficient distribution of technology to communities that are “on the wrong side of the digital divide.”

“Human-I-T stands out as an innovative force in the digital landscape, transforming how technology and resources are distributed to underserved communities. The website embodies a mission-driven approach, using cutting-edge solutions to bridge the digital divide and promote sustainability,” explained our judges.

Emerging Brand: The Linz Shop

Since launching over 60 years ago, The Linz Shop has transformed from a family-owned butcher shop into a leading beef supplier, renowned for its commitment to offering the highest quality meats.

The brand’s website expertly showcases its decades of experience in Angus beef production. Its rich backstory helps shoppers see The Linz Shop as more than just a business, fostering trust and building deeper connections.

According to our judges, “The brand does an excellent job of emphasizing its heritage, connecting customers with a rich history of cattle ranching and premium Angus beef production. This narrative builds trust and sets the brand apart.”

In addition to its strong brand identity, The Linz Shop’s robust marketing strategy underscores its efforts to enhance visibility and scale its business. By prioritizing SEO, affiliate programs, influencer marketing, and advertising, The Linz Shop has established itself as a key player in its industry.

As noted by our judges, “The foundation in ecommerce basics, like strong SEO, allows for efficient and high ROI activities like affiliate programs, social influencer programs, and strategic advertising to thrive and deliver a strong online presence that suits an already strong brand name.”

Shopper Experience: GlassCraft Door Company

Founded in 1977, GlassCraft Door Company has evolved from a glass supplier into the leading hardwood entry door company in the US. Over the years, the brand has built a strong reputation for its world-class customer service and superior shopping experience, establishing itself as an industry leader.

Continuing its commitment to enhancing the user experience, GlassCraft Door Company recently introduced a more efficient way for shoppers to find products. With the company’s custom configurator feature, customers can simply point and click to locate their desired item, eliminating the need to look through an extensive product catalog.

According to our judges, “GlassCraft Door Company has solved some very complex problems in elegant ways. The custom configurator provides a simple point-and-click solution for shoppers to get exactly the product they want instead of having to sift through hundreds or thousands of permutations as individual products or SKUs. On the other side of the experience, custom dealer tools provide an impressive B2B experience.”
