Last month, we took over the historic ACL Live stage in the heart of downtown Austin to launch our flagship BigSummit event. Held over three days, this event welcomed industry experts, customers, and partners to share their experiences and insights into where the world of ecommerce is going.
Our longstanding CEO, Brent Bellm took the stage with new President Travis Hess to share their vision of bridging the gap between where we are and where we are going. Stressing the importance of our partner ecosystem, being agile to drive innovation and growth, strengthening our B2B position, and remaining authentic in an ever changing landscape were key points shared by leadership throughout the two days of programming.
Most notably, our second edition of The Next Big Thing launched, unveiling powerful new features and exciting updates now available to current and prospective customers. Troy Cox, Chief Product Officer at BigCommerce, shared the new features, detailing how these advancements will help customers reach more shoppers globally, create stunning composable storefronts, boost B2B businesses, harness the power of AI, and drive increased conversion rates.
“With our new product releases, our customers will be able to reach more shoppers globally, create stunning composable storefronts, boost their B2B businesses, harness the power of AI, convert more shoppers into customers, and unlock new developer functionality.” — Troy Cox, Chief Product Officer, BigCommerce
Over twenty sessions, workshops, and panel discussions were held during the event — with 15 BigCommerce customers joining us on stage to share their stories and insights. Industry heavy hitters joined our customers, to highlight strategies for the upcoming holiday season, the importance of staying agile to win market share and stay ahead of the competition, and how to identify your customer today, tomorrow, and in the future.
Notable ecommerce strategist and influencer, Rick Watson joined us for day two of programming breaking down how to build trust though consistent quality customer experiences, showing up where your competitors are, the proper way to introduce yourself to a new consumer.
Finishing out our event, Future Commerce Co-Founders Brian Lange and Philip Jackson, and John Affourtit, Senior Director of Strategic Sales at Attentive, filmed a live Make it Big podcast episode sharing their research into the future of consumer shopping, the next wave of ecommerce trends, and the evolving ways consumers will interact with brands across various channels and devices — redefining the path to purchase.
Across the panels and workshops, major themes emerged giving clear insight into how we are planning to tackle this new world of ecommerce.
After winning 24 medals from Paradigm recognizing our B2B capabilities, there are no plans to slow down. Lance Owide, General Manager of B2B at BigCommerce, walked attendees through the new B2B roadmap, which showcased how we plan to continue to elevate the buyer experience and maximize sales with the latest in customization, reducing complexity, and more.
Through Catalyst and our acquisition of Makeswift, customers will be able to set up storefronts with ease as displayed by Makeswift CEO and Co-Founder Alan Pledger during his breakout session. The pairing of Catalyst and Makeswift allow brands to reach new levels of both efficiency and creativity redefining composable design.
We are committed to not just maturing and evolving to better serve our customer base, but to have a bolder voice in the industry with a focus on being authentic and celebrating our wins. As our new president said, “We’re going to lose our modesty and we are going to show, not tell.”
