On March 11, BigCommerce’s Veronica Servantez, Senior Vice President of Marketing, spoke at The Wear House on the future of fashion, apparel, and ecommerce. The event, hosted by Women’s Wear Daily, was held during SXSW to highlight fashion industry trends through candid conversation and high-touch, custom experiences. The Wear House “offers an insider’s perspective on what’s inside, what’s in store, and what’s inspiring the industry’s path forward.”
Apparel and accessories is the leading ecommerce vertical in the US, making up more than 19% of total retail ecommerce sales in 2024.
Nearly one in five American consumers used buy now, pay later in 2023.
After signing up for an online retailer’s “one-click” checkout service, customers over time increased their spending by an average of 28.5% from previous buying levels.
Implementing these checkout features can help improve customer experience by giving them more ways to pay.
Retailers using three or more channels increase consumer engagement 251% more than single-channel retailers.
In 2023, apparel was the most-purchased product category across social media channels, making up 26% of social sales.
Finding a solution that integrates seamlessly with their ecommerce platform, like Feedonomics, can help businesses manage feeds, inventories, descriptions, and more.
“The future of ecommerce is composable,” Servantez said. “As customer expectations continue to shift, brands need an ecommerce platform that allows them to customize experiences tailored to cohorts, and even individual customers’ needs.”
Technology solutions like BigCommerce are diving head first into composability, giving their customers the ability to mix and match best-in-breed solutions that make it easy to grow their business.
